In an effort to cut down on the congestion and wait time on the first tee, we are encouraging players to set up their own foursomes and get tee times earlier than the posted start time...they will still be included in the CTPs, points, and snakes...I have made provisions at the pro shope to get your "Hackers Score Card". You may still play at the posted time if you so choose.

3-18 The time is approaching to plug in the 2026 edition of The Hackers...but not just yet. Rita and I are still in Florida and will be back in Bedford the first part of April. We have had an unusually cold winter (but NOTHING like what was enured in PA) and now that the weather seems to be breaking we will start play at Down River. Keep checking your inbox for the starting text.

4-15 Today was the opening round of the 2026 season for the Down River Hackers. We had 23 players who enjoyed sunny skies with summer like temps in the mid 80"s. The greens had be just aerated but they were very playable due to the rains last night (3 guys had 0 snakes). We had three guys shoot in the 70's...Walter Beatty with 77, Layne Cober 76, and Mick Foor 79...it seems that they all are in mid season form already. Duane Morgret (Heat Shot) had the shot of the day...while trying to get out of the bunker on #16, his shot hit the face of the bunker, shot up in the air..hit him on top of the head..rolled down his back and his ass deposited it back into the trap. He was successful on his next shot but ended up with the dreaded snow man. It sure was nice drinking cold beer on the back porch!!
